We saw thunder heads; we heard thunder; we saw lots of wind and we could smell the rain but we did not get any. At least we have not gotten any yet. We are hopeful that the rain will circle back around. Maybe someone else is getting rain. We cleaned out the gutter boxes and set the diversion in place. We have to sacrifice part of the first rain because the gutters have too much dirt and bird poop in them. We don’t want that dirty water to run into the cistern. But we are ready when the rain comes.
The masons did 16 sections of the wall today. That is a good increase from the 10 sections they finished yesterday. We realized that we underestimated the number of blocks we will need. Red stopped by this afternoon and we contracted with him to make the additional blocks we will need. We had him mold blocks for another storage building while he was molding the blocks for the wall so we should not run out of blocks. We will rob Peter to pay Paul. We will use the storage building blocks for the wall and replace them with the new ones.
Mr. Mahama, the man from the Registrar General’s office called this afternoon and said that the documents were ready for us to pick up and that we could come to his office between 9:00 and 10:00 tomorrow morning and get them. It is bad timing, what with the wall project going on but we do not want to miss the opportunity to get the documents if at all possible. I did not hear the phone conversation between Mr. Mahama and Steve so I have been worried that maybe he just needed additional information and the documents were not really ready for pick up. To ease my mind Steve called him back and point blank asked if the documents were ready. He said yes they were ready. You will hear my shouts of joy if we actually get the documents!
A friend of Red’s contacted him to see if anyone in Yendi was making the handicapped tricycles. Red told him that he was making them. There is an older lady who has had both of her feet and part of one leg removed because of diabetes that needs one. The problem is that she lives in Kumasi about 7 hours away from Yendi. Red is trying to work out the particulars as to how to get the tricycle to her. We have one in the shed that Red re-worked. If all goes well she will get that one. We try not to give anything away totally free. It is better for the needy person to do a little something. Thanks to your generous support we will be able to help this lady.
Keep us in your prayers.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
