When the ladies came to work this morning they told us that we had run out of weaning mix.  We have yet to be able to figure out why they cannot tell us when we are about to run out of something.  We quickly sent a message to a lady that lives in Zorash’s neighborhood that we needed to buy weaning mix (porridge).   She sent her daughter to the Center with 15 pounds of weaning mix.  We sent the money back with the girl (she looked like she was 10 or 11 years old) and we gave the girl a little extra money for bringing it to us.  She was happy with the money.  We had already bought the corn for the weaning mix and Amama washed and dried it on Monday.  Amama and I went to town and bought the soybeans.  She washed and set them in the sun to dry while they roasted the corn.  We were not able to use the good roaster because we are in the process of trying to motorize it so the ladies had to roast the corn the old fashioned way which is much more labor intensive.  They had to stay later than normal today to get all the grain roasted.  Zorash and Amama owed us a day of work and Meri needed to take off tomorrow so she could help cook for a funeral so everyone worked over today to finish roasting the corn and pay back their day.

Mr. Iddrisu was sitting in the compound this morning when we came back from our walk.  He looked like 9 miles of Ghanaian road!   Ha!  He has a terrible cough and is so weak that he can hardly walk around; we suspect he has Covid but no one here is testing for Covid.  The doctor tested him for Malaria which he did not have so the doctor said that maybe he had Typhoid.  I am not sure that cough and congestion are signs of Typhoid but whatever he has he feels terrible.  He only came to the mission house this morning to get his pay.  Payday was yesterday; we would have sent the money to him if he had asked for it.

Donkey said that the Ya-Na is going to have the people that are building on his piece of property arrested and demand that they produce the land papers for the plot.  Who knows how that is going to turn out but Nazo says that he does not believe they have land papers because the land is traditional land and not supposed to be sold.

Steve and I spent the whole afternoon sitting at the computer trying to stay on line long enough to get the taxes done for October.  I am happy to report that just a few minutes ago we successfully completed them.  Now we have to take the documents to the bank and pay the tax.  Mr. Iddrisu usually does the banking portion of the taxes for us but since he is sick it looks like Steve is going to have to go and waste a morning at the bank sitting in line.

Thank you for all you do for us and for the work.

In HIS Service,

Steve and Kandie
