Just wanted to let you know that we have arrived safely in Ghana; we are at the hotel.  We had originally planned on flying up to Tamale tomorrow and drive over to Yendi but when we got to the airlines that flies the domestic flights we found out that there were no seats available on tomorrow’s flights.  The first flight with open seats is on Friday.  There is another airline called “Passion Air” that has a few flights a week to Tamale but we have never flown with them.  We decided to check and see what they had available; they only had one seat available on Friday, and nothing for Wednesday or Thursday.   We thought of having Red drive down and pick us up but by the time he drove 15 hours down here, spent the night and drove us 15 hours to get back to Yendi we would not have saved anything; we would not get in until late on Thursday night.  We decided to just hang out here in Accra for a couple extra days; when “Plan A” fails go to “Plan B”.  I can always do a little shopping!  Ha!  And at least we passed our Covid test when we arrived in Ghana and are not sitting in the hospital under quarantine!

We had a good flight even though we had to produce a fist full of documents to leave the US and to enter Ghana.  We had to have the usually visa in addition to a health document for New York, a health document for Ghana, a negative PCR Covid test within 72 hours of departure, a attestation form, proof of payment for the rapid Covid test that is given once we arrived in Ghana, proof of a Yellow Fever vaccination, and a Ghana immigration declaration form.  Besides which we had to wear a mask for 24 hours straight!  Our ears were worn out!  Enough complaining!  We are proud that we arrived without any real problems!

The driver and van we hired were waiting for us at the airport.  We have so much luggage that we have to hire a van instead of a taxi to take us to the hotel / apartment.  We had him take us to the domestic airlines, to the FOREX Bureau so we could change money, we also went to a small restaurant that sells Lebanese food and to a store where we bought water, drinks and snacks for the hotel.

Thank you for all the prayers that you offered up on our behalf.  Please keep praying for us and the rest of our trip to Yendi.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
