We left our house in Athens yesterday, Wednesday morning at 9:15. We arrived safely in Accra, the capital city of Ghana at the hotel at 4:00 pm which is 10:00 am in Athens. Our ears were pretty much worn out from wearing those face masks for 25 hours! We still had to wear them a little longer because we went to get something to eat.
We had to have a negative PCR Covid test before we could get on the plane and a negative rapid Covid test before we could leave the airport in Ghana. Let me tell you we were happy when we got the test results and were free to leave the airport.
This morning before we left our house we were running around like chickens with our heads cut off. Charity our daughter called and asked if we needed help; of course we needed help! Charity works from home and the computer system was down so she had a little time to help us. While we were working I put on a jacket that I usually don’t wear for good because the cuffs are frayed. Well won’t you know I wore the thing to the airport! Aaron, one of our sons, drove us to the airport but he left before I realized I was still wearing the jacket. It was cold in the airport so I decided to repair the jacket. I bought a travel sized needle and thread packet in the airport gift shop. I took out the old hem and re-hemmed the jacket while we waited to board our flight. Now the jacket is like new!
We tried to get plane tickets to fly to Tamale but all the flights on both of the airlines were booked up on Friday and Saturday. We will be staying in Accra until Sunday. I am not complaining too much because it will give me a chance to “shop” and we have a little business to do on Friday!
Take care and thank you for the prayers.
Please say a special prayer for my (Kandie’s) niece Tera’s family. Tera passed away on Tuesday! We know that her family would appreciate your prayers!
