We were surprised to see Zorash come to work this morning.  She came to make up one of her days off earlier in the week.   We were happy to see her because Steve wanted to take some things to the hospital and it always makes it easier if we have a Ghanaian go with us in case we need something interpreted or don’t understand the protocol.

Before we could deliver the supplies to the hospital we had to go to town to buy a couple of step down transformers for the breast pumps and nebulizer we brought from the states.  All the plugs and outlets here are 240 volts.  It only takes moments to fry electronics if you plug a 110 into a 240 outlet.

The hospital is always grateful for the gifts.  This time they got reading glasses, prescription glasses, a couple blood pressure cuffs, breast pumps, insulin syringes, catheters, nebulizer, alcohol wipes, sutures, moon boot, splints, slings and gauze.  Steve likes to give them gifts every now and then because sometimes we have special patients we need to be seen quickly.

On our way back from the hospital we told Zorash about the butcher who made the mystery packets of meat and that we wanted to take a video of the process of making the packets.  We stopped and asked if we could video him.  He told us to come back at 3:00.  We were disappointed at 3:00 because he had already made the packets and had them on the fire cooking.  He told us to come back at 10:00 in the morning and he would show us how to make the packets.  If it is raining we will have to postpone it until another day.

Steve is outside taking the front passenger tire off the old van.  It has a flat; we must have picked up a nail or piece of wire.  Before we noticed the flat tire we tried to take the van to town but it would not turn over; I guess the battery needs to be charged.   At least we were not in town when it failed us!

Today was Yendi’s big market day.  Nazo said that the rain had spoiled the market!  The rain quit around noon time and the vendors came back out.

The goat we painted red was back in the yard this morning; he has been in here every morning.  Today we decided to catch him again and to take him further away from the mission house to let him go.  I personally don’t think that they took him far enough away!   Some animals have a great homing in instinct.  Nazo said that if the goat comes back it is not really a goat!  Meaning it is a spirit or a witch!  I almost wish it would come back so we could hear Nazo’s explanation!  Ha!

Thank you for the love, prayers and support.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie

P.S.  Please say a special prayer for our friends the Nunleys, they lost their teenage granddaughter and we know they would appreciate the prayers.
