We spent the day in Tamale again!!  We went to check on our Social Welfare license for the Child Center.  We went prepared to resubmit all the documents and pay for everything to be re-filed.  We have been trying to get in contact with the lady who originally called to let us know the license had come in but every time we called her phone was switched off.  This morning we met with the lady who was going to help us resubmit the documents.  She said that they had looked through many of the documents but had not found our license.  When we pressed her about the documents that had not been sorted she said that it was dusty and dirty in the office where the documents were stored and that they did not want to get their clothes dirty so they have not finished going through the stuff.  I volunteered to come to Tamale and sort the documents myself just to be sure that ours was not there.  She said that was not necessary; she said that she would have her office girl start going through the documents.  The office girl was sitting right there playing on her cell phone; the manager told her that she wanted her to come tomorrow on Saturday and sort through the documents.  We could tell that the girl was totally uninterested in looking at anything.  I piped up and said, “If you find our license I will give you 100 Cedis as a dash (gift) for finding it!  As soon as you find it I will rush back to Tamale and get it and give you the money!”  All we got from her was a tiny smile.  The office manager put in a call to Accra to see if they could make a duplicate of the license but she got no answer so she sent her a text message.  We told her that we had business to do and we would stop by before we left Tamale.  Around 3:00 the office manager called and said that they found our license!  I was jumping for joy!  We told her that we were on our way to pick it up and to please not leave the office until we got there!  We rushed over and were so excited to have our license in hand!  We gave the office girl 100 Cedis and also the office manager 100 Cedis.  The best 13 dollars we ever spent!  The license was in their office all the time, they just did not want to hunt for it!

We bought 20 cases of Konkomba Bibles this morning!  We would have bought more but that was all we could fit in the back of the red pickup.  We even rode with one in the back seat.  Thank you so much for those that send money for Bible, Evangelism and Whatever Comes up!  The Bibles cost about 6 dollars each; it is both the old and new testament.  We give Bibles to the churches we visit and Steve subsidizes the ones the brothers want to buy so they can afford them.

Before we left Tamale we went to the bank, bought vegetables, stopped by the Cultural Center so I could buy a few batik pieces for my next quilt project, stopped by the vet’s office and got something to eat.

We had enough daylight to get the truck unloaded after we got back to the mission house.

Have a great day!

Mom and Dad left me again today!  I had a lonely boring day stuck in my jail cell all day long!  The time just dragged by!  Around 5:00 I saw a red truck driving down the driveway!  It pulled up to the gate and a fluffy white lady got out.  I stood up on my hind legs and stared out of my cell!  She was far away so I could not tell for sure who she was but she was wearing one of those loud African print dresses like Mom always wears!  As soon as she got the gate unlocked she started calling my name in that big voice of hers!  I knew it was Mom; that voice was music to my ears!  The closer she got to my jail cell the more excited I got!  I started chattering and squealing!  The moment she opened the door I jumped into her arms, snuggled under her neck and started making the tiny puffing noises I make when I am too happy!

I played outside while they were unloading the truck.  It was parked under the big mango tree.  I delight in jumping on the roof of the old green truck because it makes such a loud noise but the red truck has more insulation in the roof and all I could get it to make was a dull thud!  What fun is that?  I like big noises so that people will think that I am big too!

When we came into the house Mom gave me a slice of mango and a bottle; I quickly snuggled into Dad’s arm and took a nap; it is exhausting to be left to fend for yourself all day!  I do love a good nap!

NAPS RULE!

Love, Skeeter
