We did not have to worry about getting up too early this morning because we had nothing to do until the offices opened.

We are here in Accra without a vehicle or driver so when we want to get from place to place we have to hire a taxi.  We decided to hire a taxi this morning and pay him not only to drive us but to wait on us.  This way we don’t have to stand to wait for the next empty taxi to drive by.  It is sort of like having a private car!

After we finished our business we had the taxi driver take us to a small Chinese supermarket.  I wanted to buy a few condiments and rice noodles to take up to Yendi with us.  Even though the shop is small it is packed to the ceiling with imported food stuff!  There is a high population of expatriates in Accra and there are a lot of Chinese in Ghana, many of them are involved in the gold industry.

This afternoon we caught another taxi and went to a very nice souvenir shop.  The prices are too rich for my blood but we love looking at all the stuff and seeing what a good deal we have gotten on similar items that we buy elsewhere.  I bought a children’s book that was written by a Ghanaian and contains one of their fables.

Just before we went to bed last night we got a message that our sister-in-law Bonnie Taylor, Steve’s brother Dick’s wife, passed away on the 9th of February; the day we flew back to Ghana.  She lived in Ohio; will have a private burial.  Please keep her family in your prayers.

Thank you for all you do for us and for the work.

In His Service,

Love Steve and Kandie
