We sent Mr. Iddrisu and Nazo to town this morning with the motor king to get cement for the wall project.  They had not been gone long when Mr. Iddrisu called to say that the motor king would not move.  We called Solomon the mechanic to come and take a look at it.  We drove the pickup so we could off load the cement and carry it back to the jobsite so the masons did not run out.  We cannot afford to have the project stop.  Steve then called the guy with the motor king that we hired yesterday to haul the block while our motor king was being repaired.  The guy was happy to get the work and spent the rest of the day hauling blocks for us.  We then went back to town and pulled the motor king back to the mission house so Solomon could work on it.  He had to replace the clutch plates again! Solomon was pretty put out!  This time he tried to save us some money.  He used the old clutch plates that were still good from the last 2 times he has changed them out.  We doubt that they will last.  Steve went ahead and hired the motor king driver to haul for us tomorrow.  He said that he had to take some sort of test tomorrow but he would come after he finished.  The ground on the back side of the property is so dry that it has powdered up.  The motor king driver got stuck with his last trip this evening; Steve used the truck and the 4-wheeled drive to pull him out.  We asked him if he was burning up clutches and he said “No, if the clutches are burning it is from the driver.”

We spent about an hour at the tax office today but we finally got all of it paid for this month.  We were happy to have that behind us but then I remembered that we had not paid the social security tax for this month.  We have until the 15th  to pay it.  Mr. Iddrisu will pay it on Monday.

Three men from the Church at Bungbali came to the mission house for a visit.  The church wants to put up a cement block church building.  They are not really prepared yet; they don’t even have any idea of what size building they are going to build or what the cost of the building will be; they are just in the planning stage.  Steve assured them that we would help with money for the cement to mold the blocks when they had acquired the sand and or gravel.  The congregation is small and it will take them several years to get it built.  The church building they have right now is big enough but they are planning for the future.

The high temperature today was 110 degrees with a heat index of 115 degrees.  When we went to the tax office the secretary asked how we were enjoying the heat.  We told her our masks were helping us enjoy it even more!   Everyone in the office laughed!  Ghana is still under a mask mandate.

Thank you so much for the love, prayers and support.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
