Iddrisu, the man that has been cutting the mango trees got here this morning at about 8:00.  Mr. Oldman and the other cutter, Dawda, did not get here until around 10:00.  Someone died in their area and they went to the cemetery (I am not sure that is the word I am looking for) to open the grave.  Dawda was one of the grave diggers so he was tired before he got here.  The men worked until 12:00.  Mr. Oldman, our neighbor, stayed around and helped us pull the brush.  He did not want us to burn the leaves because most of them were green; he said that the goats and sheep would enjoy them and after they ate the leaves the ladies in our area would pick up the small sticks to use for firewood.  We got tired of cutting off the leaves so we decided to put everything outside the gate.  Mr. Oldman called one of the ladies that he knew and told her to organize the women and come get the small firewood before someone else found it.  Mr. Oldman worked hard so we paid him the same as we did Dawda; he was very happy.  When Steve paid Dawda he was all smiles.  We are going to have to have Iddrisu, the tree trimmer, come back one more day to finish up.

Red called this afternoon and wanted to know if we needed a load of river sand.  We will need river sand when we start putting up the new store room at the back of the property later this year.  Red said that someone ordered the sand but he could not get hold of them to find out where to deliver it.  He needed his money and he needed to get the load off his truck so he could go back and get another load.  He off loaded it at the back of the property where the cement blocks are stacked.  We will have to stack cement blocks around the pile of sand to keep the erosion from washing it away before we get ready to use it.

Zorash stopped by this afternoon with a couple of the summer lap quilts that we had sent to the tailors to put the decorative stitches on.  The first guy we hired is so slow!  His work is fine but he keeps working on other projects besides mine.  We pass his shop every time we go into town so we can keep an eye on what he is working on.  Zorash found another man who does the same type of stitches and he was more than happy to get the work.  He has a friend that works with him and he needed the work too.  It only took them 2 days to finish 2 quilts.  I sent a couple more for them to work on.

Thank you for all you do for us and for the work.  Please keep us in your prayers.

In His service,

Steve and Kandie
