We did not get any rain last night but Jagrido got rain.  Jagrido is the village where Timothy Niligrini grew up.  Timothy’s brother Simeon is doing some heavy work at the mission house for us.  He told us that he would not come to work tomorrow because his farm is in Jagrido and he needs to plant his peanuts tomorrow and the next day.  We told him that the work he has been doing will not go anywhere.  Today he was backfilling against the wall on the back side of the property.  Shoveling and moving gravel is back breaking work!  Mr. Iddrisu drove the motor king for him in between painting.  We had Mr. Iddrisu and Nazo start to paint the new building on the back end of the property.  Today they were painting with the water proof paint.

Zorash came back to work this morning and they still do not know what is wrong with her brother.  She said that all the tests they did came back good.  She said they rechecked his blood sugar and did a PSA test.  They gave him antibiotics and told him to come back after he finished the antibiotics if he was not doing better.

Meri did not come to work today; her son Aliu is still in the hospital.  Zorash called her and she said that he seemed to be a little better and now his biggest complaint is that he has a terrible headache.  Hopefully he is on the mend.

As soon as we got back from our walk this morning we started hanging more razor wire.  There were a couple of gates that still needed razor wire and we hung a piece on the section of the fence on the left side of the gate.  Children like to climb over that section to come onto the mission property.

After the Child Center closed this morning Amama and Zorash went with us to the market to buy dried field corn.  We are almost out of the weaning mix and want to cook some next week.  We also decided to buy a manual corn / peanut roaster.  The welders make the roasters out of empty gas cylinders.  They build a stand for the roaster and attach a handle so the roaster can be rolled around a wood fire.  It is supposed to be a faster way to roast the corn and soybeans.  We went to the welding shop and ordered one.  It should be ready for us to pick up on Monday.

While we were in the market I had Zorash go with me to the vendor that sells smoked dried minnows.  The vendor has a metal red enamel speckled bowl that she uses to measure dried fish.  I have admired the bowl for a while but the last time we went to the market with Zorash we could not find the vendor.  We were in luck today; they were selling fish and the bowl was there.  The owner of the bowl was not around so Zorash called her and we negotiated a price for it over the phone.

Please keep the work in your prayers.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
