Zorash was back at work this morning.  She had a fist full of medicine that the doctor had given her.  He said that he thought that it was her ulcer; he gave her two types of antibiotics which always make her feel sick to her stomach.  At least she felt well enough to come to work.

Mr. Iddrisu did not come to work because someone “called” him.  That means that someone had a problem or dispute that they wanted him to help settle.  Mr. Iddrisu is the head of his extended family and he is called from time to time when problems arise.

Nazo said that he could not sleep last night because the school that his niece is attending here in Yendi called him yesterday evening and told him that his niece was sick.  He rushed to the school and found her in rather a bad state.  She is a teenager.  She could not breathe and complained that her chest hurt.  Nazo hired a yellow-yellow (local taxi) to take her to his house.  He then called a doctor / nurse / medical person to come to his house and see what needed to be done.  It turned out that she was having an asthma attack.  Nazo said that he had to bear the cost of the treatment because this is the daughter of his brother that lives in Tamale that had the bad motorcycle accident a few months ago and cannot walk.  Nazo wanted to take an advance on his salary so he could pay for the girl’s treatment.  We just gave him the money that he needed so he did not have to take it from his salary or his family would be hungry next month.

Nazo is very funny.  He told me that he prays for us every day; he is a Muslim.  He said that every time he uses the outhouse / flush toilet that we built for him a couple years ago he says a prayer for us and asks for blessing because he loves his toilet and it has helped his family so much!  Now his family does not have to hunt for a place to use the bathroom; they are free; even in the night.  I have laughed about the toilet prayers off and on all day!

Thank you for all you do; thank you for all kinds of prayers you offer up for us!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
