A very strange thing happened this morning.  Mr. Iddrisu rang the door bell and told Steve that 2 men were in the yard; he did not know the men but the men said that they had been called to come to the mission house.  Steve had not called anyone but sometimes you can accidentally call someone and not know it.  Steve went out to see the men.  In a few minutes he came back in and said that the men said it was not Steve that called them but me.  Now the chances of me calling anyone even by accident are very slim because I don’t usually have my phone with me and if it is with me it is dead.  But anything is possible.  I asked Steve if he knew the men and he said he had never seen them before.  We went back out to the yard and I did not recognize the men either.  I greeted them and asked what we could do for them.  They did not speak English but Mr. Iddrisu and Donkey were there.  One of the men said that I had called him and he came to see why I called him.  We were all confused!  He said that I called him yesterday in the evening so he came to see what I wanted.  I asked him if he knew me; he said yes he knew me but then almost everyone in Yendi knows us because we are the only Americans that live here on a regular basis.  We are still confused; I asked him if I called him on my cell phone.  He said no, I had called him by leaving my hair at the entrance to his room.  Yes, I said “Hair”.  He went on to say that when he saw the hair he consulted with the people in his house and they concluded that I had somehow left my hair by his room or had sent my hair to his room as a message to let him know that I was looking for him.  I told him I did not even know where he lived and that I did not leave/send my hair to his room and that I did not call him.  It all revolves around the mystic and Juju because they believe in all sorts of strange happenings.  Mr. Iddrisu and Donkey did not want to delve into it very much but I would love to know how they knew it was hair from a white lady and not from a white man.

We dismissed the workers at 11:30 this morning because the sky was dark and we could see that the rain was coming.  It started sprinkling as the workers were leaving the mission house.  I think everyone got home before the downpour came.  It rained for several hours this afternoon and of course the electricity went off.

When we visited Divine on Sunday he said that he is waiting for the rain to stop for about 5 days because his corn is ready to harvest but the thrashing machine cannot get in the field because it is too wet and it will get stuck.

Thank you for all you do for us and if you find any of my hair at your house just know that I am not calling you!  Ha!
