We are back in Yendi at the mission house!  We had an uneventful trip; once again the Lord has taken care of us and answered prayers.  It seems like a long time since we started this trip; I guess it has taken us quite a bit longer than necessary to get from Athens to Yendi considering we left Athens on Monday.

Red was waiting for us at the airport in Tamale when our plane landed.  He was standing at the fence outside of the runway waving at us!  So nice to see a familiar face!  Did I tell you that a couple weeks ago Red’s wife had a set of twin boys?  Red has more than one wife; this wife already had 2 little girls so she was very excited to have boys this time around.  This makes children number 9 and 10 for Red.  Red has grown children that are old enough to have their own children.

While we were in Tamale we stopped by the Registrar General’s office to see if our documents were ready to be picked up but they were not.  We are to call next week and see if anything has been done on them or not.  It is always the same old song with them; “Go and Come; Hurry and Wait!”  We then stopped by the auditor / accountant’s office to pick up a receipt that the bank had requested.

We stopped and bought fresh fruits, vegetables and canned food stuff before we left Tamale.  Tamale is a much larger town than Yendi and they have a larger variety of items.

When we passed through Kulkpeni we saw Timothy’s wife Rita but Timothy was in a meeting.  Today was the day for the “Tailor Association Meeting ” so we did not get to see him but we know that Rita will let him know that we arrived.

After we unloaded the van we went into Yendi to do a little more shopping; Mother Hubbard’s cupboard was bare!  We needed onions and garlic and we found fresh okra and freshly dug peanuts.  We love boiled peanuts.

Steve got a phone call this afternoon from Abdulla, the guy that helps us register the vehicles.  He said that someone in town saw us and told him that we were back in Yendi; he just wanted to call and welcome us back to town.  News really travels fast in Yendi.  I bet we had not been at the mission house an hour before he called.

It is time for bed so I will close for now.  Sleep well!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
