We had our own worship service this morning because the driver had to pick us up at 10am to take us to the airport.  Our bags were heavier than usual because Kandie had stuffed the wood carvings amongst the clothes.  Our Ghanaian domestic airline charges by the kilogram for extra luggage so Kandie could cram them full! We had 12 checked bags.

The flight to Tamale was smooth so I was able to catch a cat nap. After collecting the luggage we walked outside to the parking lot; Red was just pulling in. Kandie helped Red and another baggage handler pack the van. That girl loves to pack!

Red was tickled to see us; he always is!  As we were leaving the parking lot Red got out his phone and showed us a photo.  He had mentioned to me last week when I talked with him that he was in an accident. Well, the photo showed his tipper (dump) truck was lying on its side. He said he was driving the truck on a narrow dirt path where they dig sand by the Oti River.  He hit a soft spot on the outer edge of the path that caused the truck to tip over. He had a passenger in the truck and some workers riding on top. The great news is no one was injured. This is not how this kind of accident usually turns out; we are thankful.

When we passed through Kulkpeni we stopped at Timothy Niligrini’s house and greeted him. I made sure he heard that everyone back in the states said “Hi”. He was all smiles.

We arrived in Yendi around 4pm. As we were turning off the main road towards our drive we passed Nazo, the day man.  I’m sure the Ya-Na ( the King) knows we are back in town .  Red had left his car here in the compound so he helped us unload the van before he left.

When we pulled up to the Kulkpeni church building this evening we received a phone call from our grandson Evan Holladay. He told us he was on the way to Mt. Carmel church building to be baptized. He is now a member of the Lord’s church. We are very proud of him.

I promised not to speak long tonight and I kept my promise. The handful that met tonight were glad to hear the greetings sent from the states.

There was not any cooking tonight at the house. I stopped at the guinea fowl seller and purchased a grilled fowl and then bought some pan fried noodles called “Indomie” with mixed vegetables and a sliver of sardine from another vendor.

We are bushed so I will call it a night. Thanks so much for your prayers for our safe arrival. May God bless!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
