Red just left; he brought the motorized corn roaster. It looks so good but it is still going too fast but it is empty; we are hopeful that when it has a full load of corn it will go slower. If not Mr. Adams, the fix-it man said that he can slow it down further. After worship tomorrow we will go to the market and buy 50 pounds of corn and try it fully loaded. If it spins too fast it will take longer for the corn to roast.
This morning Mr. Iddrisu showed us some places on the motor king that needed to be welded; we suspect he backed into something and broke the original welding and the tail and side gates had lost a couple of their pens. This motor king is designed so both side gates and the tail gate can be opened to make a flat bed for carrying wide items. Red fixed the problems for us and he also re-enforced the seat.
Steve tried to start the green truck yesterday but it would not start. The battery is weak and we knew it would have to be replaced. This morning he was going to go to town to buy another one but the old van would not start. He called Gomda the mechanic and he said that the fuel pump was worn out and needed to be replaced. Gomda got the van started and took it to his shop. This afternoon Steve hired a Yellow-yellow to take him to town to buy the new battery. Steve got the battery installed and the truck seems to be working fine.
The church benches we bought a couple weeks ago have bugs. If left untreated the bugs will destroy the benches. Steve mixed up some bug spray and sprayed the benches hopefully that will take care of the bug problem.
Steve finished the Social Welfare report and I got it edited this afternoon. Steve still has to print several copies of it and have them bound.
Steve changed the oil in the generator this afternoon and cleaned the oil filters; we looked for new oil filters when we were in Tamale but were not able to find any so we went back to the shop where we bought it and they are going to try and get us filters that are compatible.
Steve bought extra diesel for the generator. The electricity has been so awful that we have had to use more diesel than we normally do. Once the rain stops the electricity will be more stable.
Thank you for all your help.
In HIS Service,
Steve and Kandie
