Steve has a cold so he feels awful! He took several naps today. We have no idea where he picked it up from; probably one of the children at the Child Center. Hopefully it will not last too long!
Gomda got the new tailgate for the green truck. The first one he ordered was the wrong size but the second one fit. This tail gate is much heavier than the original one. I wish that he had been able to find a green one; the first one he ordered was red and the one that actually fits is white. One day we will have the truck repainted. While they were working on the truck Steve had them take the bed off the truck and weld the undercarriage of the truck; these rough roads had taken their toll on the truck. He also replaced bearings and tie rods. All in all it was an expensive venture but needed to be done.
Another of the babies that we sent to Tamale came back today. The doctors at Yendi think the child might have had a stroke. He has other health problems; he is the one that has serious curvature of the spine, a stiff neck, oddly shaped head and eyes that are constantly fixed no matter what position he is in. The doctor in Tamale gave him a prescription of some sort and told them to come back to Tamale on Tuesday (the mother cannot read so she does not know what type medicine he prescribed; she is going to take a picture of the medicine and send it to Zorash so we will know what they are giving him). We hope that a specialist will look at the child on Tuesday and maybe we will know more.
The electricity has been off most of the day. We are so proud to have a generator! It is such a blessing!
I told you that we got a good rain yesterday; the cistern is half full of water! I washed 4 loads of clothes today. We only wash what we have to when there is no rain. We just let the towels, sheets and extra clothes pile up until we get rain. I got everything washed today except the sheets; we ran out of clothes line space so I will wash the sheets tomorrow. We change the sheets during the dry season, we just don’t wash them. I did not wash Marcus and Evans towels when they left but we got all of those things washed today.
Take care and have a great day!

Mom told me yesterday that she was going to let me play outside today but I did not believe her! It has been 3 days since I was able to run free and play in the trees. She did not want me to be out when Sayibu was working on the electricity for the round houses. I do not do well with strangers. When Sayibu saw me riding on Mom’s shoulder the first day he was here he jumped at me and made me shriek! That was all it took! I decided right then and there that we were not going to be friends! After that every time I saw him I gave a warning cry because he seems to be dangerous!
I was so excited when Mom took me outside to play; she sat on the veranda and made a few phone calls while I ran through the trees! I figured out that I could knock the mangos off the tree! It was great fun pulling on the mangos and watching them fall to the ground with a thud! As I knocked them off Mom picked them up! She is going to cut them up and freeze them for me to eat later.
She left me outside unattended when she went into the house to start supper. When she came out to find me I was not in the front yard. She called and called me but I was not worried; I was not lost; I knew where I was even if she did not. She went around to the back of the house and I was walking around on the roof of the house enjoying myself immensely!
She called me several times but I ignored her until I saw Tichak, the night watchman. As soon as I saw him I jumped straight into her arms!
Beware of STRANGER-DANGER!
Love, Skeeter
