We had another long trip today; we went to Bungbali near Saboba. I will have to say the trip was much more enjoyable because there has been a lot of tarring of the road since our last visit. This allowed us to keep a faster, steady pace.  We were happy to see they had received a good rain in the past two days that made the trip less dusty.

When we arrived I pulled the truck up under a tree and all three of us got out and started unloading our stuff when all of a sudden Kandie said the truck was trying to start. How could that be when I had the keys hanging on my pants loop!  It tried to start again! I grabbed my wrench and proceeded to disconnect the positive battery cable.  It stopped so I figure there must be a short somewhere. Later, when we were about to leave I reattached the cable and it started as normal. Go figure!

It had been at least 3 years since we visited both congregations that we had a joint service with today; that being Tombu and Bungbali. Before the Covid hit, the area around Saboba had some conflict that didn’t permit us to visit.  We were happy to give each congregation a metal communion table and other gifts.

I chose to use 2 Peter 3:9 as my basis for my lesson.  This verse, written by the Apostle Peter, discusses how God keeps His promises and that He is long suffering.  Timothy helped me with the interpretation into Likpapaaln (Konkomba language). There were 56 people present including the children. During the question and answer time after services we had questions asked about being a politician and the holiday called Easter.

Both congregations are working towards preparing for a new building. We helped both with the understanding they would match what we provide in money or in kind. The men from both congregations want to use cement to build with.

Brother Edward, one of the church leaders lives a stone’s throw from the church building and that is where we ate a meal of Fufu and pepper soup with guinea fowl.  It was a great meal and we told Edward’s wife so and gave a little money for her hard work.  The church provided us with some nice big yams and guinea eggs to take back with us. They told us it had been a long time since we had visited them and they wanted to do something extra for us. What a blessing!

At Kulkpeni tonight I was asked to lead the class. We had a long question session after class. The first question was about Easter and it took off from there. It was great!

Hope you had a good Lord’s Day! May God bless!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
