We made it to Yendi at 7:30 this evening.  We had to drive a little while in the dark which we hate but at least Red was doing the driving.  We had a couple stops to make in Tamale before we headed to Yendi.  We were pleased that the renewal for the Child Center’s license was waiting for us at the Social Welfare office.  The lady in charge of the renewals said that the license had come from Accra earlier this week.  We were not so fortunate at the auditor’s office.  Usually he files everything for us through the Registrar General’s office in Tamale but this time he said that the documents had been sent to Accra for approval and that since they had been sent in before the deadline we would not have to worry about penalties even if the deadline came and went.  We are not sure if this is a new regulation or something that has always been happening that we were not aware of.  We will go back to Tamale next week and maybe we will find out more of the details.

When Red picked us up at the airport the van was not cool.  He tried to make me believe that the air was working but it was not!  I did not want to ride for 2 hours in a van without air conditioning so we went to the AC repair guy and had the system topped up with Freon.  It took him quite a while to charge the system because he was looking for a leak.  He found the leak; we will take the van next week to get it fixed.  We had a cool ride back to Yendi but we know it will not last.  We are proud to be safely back in Yendi!

We have spent the past 2 hours chasing dust!  We are in the middle of the Harmattan (the dust that blows down from the Sahara desert) and floors and every flat surface in the mission house was covered in dust.  I mean seriously covered!  We can see every footprint and the dust is so thick that it can be written in!  Steve vacuumed while I wiped down the flat surfaces.  What a mess!  We ran out of energy before we got the floors mopped; we will do that tomorrow.  The dust is not going to go anywhere.

Thank you for the love, prayers and support.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
