We made it to Accra this afternoon at about 3:00. We could have taken an earlier flight but we had some business to do in Tamale. We had to drop off the paperwork at the auditor’s office. We were in hopes that they would have something done on the new audit so we could sign it and save ourselves a trip to Tamale but nothing had been done. We were able to pick up last year’s receipts that he used to fill out the audit. This audit is sort of like filing yearly taxes. When we first started having to pay an auditor to audit the books we asked why we could not fill out the forms ourselves and we were told that “people have gone to school to learn how to fill out the forms and if we do it ourselves we will be taking a job away from someone.” Really, I just want to save money!
Red drove us to Tamale and dropped us off at the airport. He is staying with his sister tonight so he will be there to pick us up tomorrow when we fly in with the kids.
Speaking of our kids, they left Huntsville around noon today and are presently in Atlanta. They have a 5+ hour layover in Atlanta; Faith ,our granddaughter, is doing her schooling online while she is gone so the plan is for her to work on her homework and get most of it done during the time they are traveling. They are going to pay to have the wifi on the plane so she can do homework during the 9 ½ hour flight. Makes me tired just writing about it!
As soon as we landed in Accra we hired a taxi and went to one of the shopping malls that has a good sized grocery store. We picked up a few condiments that we cannot get in Yendi or Tamale; water, drinks and something for breakfast. We then went upstairs and ordered supper at a small restaurant that serves Lebanese food. Yum! It was delicious!
The taxi driver that we hired to take us to the hotel said that he knew where the carvers’ village moved to. We will see if he really knows because we arranged for him to meet us at 9:00 in the morning to take us to the new place. This could turn out very well or it could be a bust! We have asked lots of people and drivers where they moved to and have gotten several different answers.
Please keep our kids in your prayers as they continue to travel.

Steve and Kandie
