The building project is behind us!  Can you hear us shouting?  We are so happy that it is finished, everyone has been paid and Steve bought padlocks for all the rooms.  The only thing that is left to do is to water the floors for the next few days.  They mix the cement very dry so it has to be watered or it will not cure out and be hard.  There is still water left in the 4 ft square containers so it will be easy to water.  Nazo will do it in the evenings before he goes home for the day.

Our neighbor raises guinea fowl and he lets them roam all over wherever they want to go.  Guinea fowl are good flyers and they fly right over the short wall.  When our neighbor climbs over the wall and walks all over the mission property looking for guinea fowl eggs.  The guinea hens are not chickens that come home to roost and lay their eggs where they live.  The guinea hens hide their eggs in the tall grass and when they hatch out they take the chicks far away from people.  The owners of the guinea fowl hunt for the nest; steal the eggs and put them under a sitting hen to hatch.  The hen is an excellent mother and she will keep the guinea at home.  Hence the reason the neighbor climbs over the wall and over the razor wire to come on the mission property.  The wall around the property is only about 4 feet tall; we definitely need to find the money to raise the wall to secure the property and keep people out.

The mother of the little girl that had the hair lip repair surgery came to the Center this morning to show us how wonderful the little girl looks now.  She just had the surgery on Monday and out of the hospital yesterday.   The stitches were still in her lip and her lip was still a bit swollen.  She looked great.  The mother just wanted us to see the child and to thank us for helping them with the surgery.  She is so happy!  She said that her family members say that this is not the same baby!  They are so excited!  We took a little video of her.  Our thanks go out to all of you who help us with the children.

This morning I showed the ladies how to make the rice fritters.  They could not stop eating them!  Meri said, “Sister Kandie is a good cooker but today this is the best she ever cooked!”  High praise indeed!  We made a ton of the fritters and we divided them so they could take them home and share them with their families.

Thanks again for all your help!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
