It is 7:00 pm and we still have not had supper. We took Dawda, the mason out to the Kulkpeni church property to give us an estimate on repairing the floors in some of the buildings. We have some sort of big ants that dig in the foundations of the cement floors. They burrow out tunnels and trails which cause the floor to collapse. Then the chickens and guinea fowl come to the areas and hunt for ants to eat. All in all they are very destructive little creatures. We want the floors to be in good repair for the seminar because the people bring their little mats and sleep on the floors. The old floor has to be chipped off before a new floor can be put down. The church members were busily chipping off the floor when we arrived. They hope to be finished with the chipping and rubble removal tomorrow. If Dawda can start on Thursday, maybe the project will be finished this week. While we were at Kulkpeni Steve went ahead and rented the wheel barrels, shovels and water container that will be needed for the project. The ladies at Kulkpeni are supposed to haul the water for the project; we will see how that works out.
Mr. Iddrisu’s cold is worse; he coughed all day and was having a difficult time talking. He probably caught something at the hospital when he was trying to figure out what was going on with his son. It might be Covid but no one around here is testing for Covid.
Meri is still very much pregnant. Her due date is the 27th of October. She is still coming to work. She said that she feels fine but that she is tired. Well, please with 5 other kids to take care of and cook for I would be tired too.
Mr. Adams, the fix-it man was able to fix the speaker system that we use on the TV when we watch movies. It was probably the horrible electricity that killed it in the first place. Good news on the electricity; they got the new transformer installed and this evening when we came back from Kulkpeni the electricity was back on and we had a full 220 volts of electricity. Happy day! Now if it will just keep working!
Take care and thank you for all you do for us and for the work.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
