Around 7:30 this morning Brother Divine showed up on our doorstep with Mohammed, the  twin brother of the man who was murdered several weeks ago. They needed financial help to pay for the doctor’s autopsy report; it will be sent to the police.

Timothy didn’t have to come in to the compound this morning because we pass his house on our way to Sobitido. The weather was dismal with a few small showers just before we left. If it is raining the church members don’t like to come out.   We left on schedule at 9am hoping it wasn’t raining at our destination.

When we arrived at Sobitido one of the church leaders was having bible class and answering questions the class was asking.  Somehow or the other Timothy and I joined in when we were asked about several of the questions and we were off to the races.  About 25 minutes later questions were still being asked so I suggested and the men approved of allowing the questions to continue and I would not preach. Timothy and I love to have the brethren ask questions .Why? It gives us a chance to feel the pulse of the congregation and allows us to answer the questions that are troubling  the congregation.  After the class we had the worship service without me preaching.

We discussed the congregation’s plans to build a concrete block building. I told them we would help with the matching funds so they were pleased to know we would help. The church gave us a large number of fresh yams and some guinea eggs which we later re-gifted to Timothy. One of the sisters asked to hitch a ride to Yendi on our way back so after dropping Timothy off we took her to town.

I forgot to mention that on the way back to Yendi we ran across some boys that were using two sticks and some mosquito netting to net fish at one of the culverts we traveled over.  Due to the heavy rains these areas flood and have rushing water pass through them. This particular boy had some minnows in his net. We asked him how many he had gotten. Another boy walked over to the truck and took the lid off of a 1.5 quart cook pot that was nearly full of these little ½ inch minnows.  This is free food! Timothy said they will dry these minnows over a slow fire so they can be ground and used in the stew for their house.

That wraps up another Sunday for our work. Thanks so much for your support and may God bless!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
