Our work on the sprayer this morning was hindered by the Bro. Kenneth from Bungbali.  Bungbali is one of the congregations that we visited on Sunday; both Bungbali and Tombu are planning on building new church buildings.  Kenneth is the mason and he is the one the church is going to hire to mold the cement blocks.  The problem is that he is a mason that has no tools; he does not have a block making press.  The blocks are molded one block at a time.  Usually the block makers bring their own press.  Kenneth asked if we would buy a mold.  The mission does not own a block mold but it is something that would be useful to have around.  We told the churches that we would buy the mold and let them borrow it on the condition that when they had finished molding their blocks they would give the mold back to us.  Kenneth came this morning to buy a mold; he wanted to pick out the mold because he wanted a “quality” one.  When he came to the mission house he had already found the one he wanted.  We went to the welding shop to see what we were buying; well low and behold the molds were not already made.  The steel plates had been cut but they were not welded together.  Kenneth convinced us to buy 2 molds so the work would go faster.  We had to sit and wait for a long time for them to put the molds together.  We had the welder put Steve’s initials on the molds.  We then had to take Kenneth and the molds to the bus station so he could catch a ride back to Bungbali.

When we got back to the house Red was waiting for us.  He found someone that bought 10 handicapped tricycles at a salvage auction.  We did not even know that Ghana had salvage auctions; maybe that is something we need to do in our spare time.  Red had the guy send him one to see what it would take to fix it up.  It actually looks like a doable project and it will cost a lot less than starting from scratch with the way building materials and metal are going up.  We gave Red the money to buy the whole lot.  Red will rework them and we will have them on hand when someone needs one.  They won’t cost anything to store.

Tichak, the watchman came to work tonight with a swollen finger and a big boil.  Steve gave him the money to go buy antibiotics and some Tylenol and Ibuprofen for the pain.  If my mom had been here she would have had that thing lanced before Tichak knew what hit him!  She was going to cure you or kill you trying!

Thank you for helping us with the work.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
