It is sprinkling!  We are excited!  We are hoping for a downpour that will not only cool things off but would fill the cistern.

Steve finished planing my bookshelf today and got it put in place and secured to the table it is sitting on.  We wanted to make sure everything is secure because we have a toddler in the house again and this toddler can climb to the moon.  We were fortunate that none of our children were climbers!  I got most of the stuff arranged on the shelves and Steve hung cup hooks and nails to hang my rulers on.  The shelving unit is mostly for my sewing supplies.  A while ago I started putting all my scraps, sewing notions, machine parts and office supplies in small clear plastic tubs to keep the dust off of them.  The tubs work well but then the problem becomes what to do with all the plastic tubs.  The shelving unit is only 6 inches deep; the perfect depth for the tubes; it is about 5 ft high.  We set the shelf height to accommodate the plastic tubs.  I love it.  The shelving unit would not win any beauty prizes but it is wonderful!  Everything looks nice and neat.  I can see where all my stuff is; I hate having to look for things!

Donkey has been taking his son Zimblim everyday to the traditional bone setter to have herbal water poured over his arm to speed the healing.  Donkey said that tomorrow the bone setter is going to remove the splint and he said that he would leave the splint off because it is now healed.  It has only been 11 days!  There is no way that an arm that has both bones broken will be healed.  We are afraid that he will re-break it!  I wonder if the chicken’s leg has healed.  I figure that chicken has already gone to someone’s stew pot!

Divine called this morning and the family of the boy that is in the hospital needed more money for his treatment.  The text message we got was very sketchy.  But the bottom line was that the family had a bag of shelled field corn they needed to sell to get the money to pay for the hospital.  We bought the corn even though we did not need it.  We would rather help the family by buying something than for them to have to go out and beg for money.  Divine sent his son with the motor king to deliver the corn to us this afternoon.  We will use it to make weaning mix for the Child Center.  We will find out more next time we talk to Divine.  The phone reception in his village is awful.  The villagers have to stand in one spot to get a connection and then it is not a good connection.  His village is small and they don’t have electricity.

Thank you for all you do for us and for the work!  We appreciate your help!

The Monkeyshines

I am getting stronger everyday!  While Mom is cooking she puts my leash on the leg of one of the dining room chairs.  The chairs are real wood and heavy.  I have figured out that I can move the chair!  Now mind you I have to try really hard and it is easier for me if I can get my hands on something like the leg of the table then I can use both my upper body strength and my legs to move the chair.  Sometimes the chair falls over and of course Mom being the worry wart that she is scolds me and says in her stern voice; “Skeeter that is a good way to break your arm; what would you do if that chair fell on top of you?”  Not only am I strong but I am quick!  I think that I could jump out of the way of the chair before it fell on me!

Dad made me extremely nervous today when he moved that book shelf into our room.  The thing is huge and painted an ugly green color!  Yellow is my favorite color!  I made all sorts of clicking noises trying to alert them that this thing was dangerous but no one listened to me.  Then Dad started the drill!  I finally hid inside Mom’s clothes until that danger was over!  My nerves were about to settle down when Mom started the vacuum cleaner!  Really that was more than necessary!  No one needs to vacuum in the middle of the day when a monkey is in the room!  It was past time for my bottle but I could not drink it because I was too upset!

When I grow up I want to be Godzilla!  I am almost that strong already!
