Amina, Nazo’s wife, came back this morning to continue washing stuff for the seminar. When I was going through some things I found a full box of bouillon cubes; I adore bouillon cubes but these were shrimp and I am not a fan. I prefer the chicken ones. Although our daughter Charity shared a recipe yesterday for Cantonese beef noodle, one of the ingredients is fish sauce. I made the dish for supper and I do not have fish sauce so I substituted the shrimp bouillon cubes and it was excellent! Oh! I am rambling now; back to the story. I found the bouillon cubes and gave them to Amina; you should have seen the look on her face. They normally buy the cubes one at a time and to get a box of 50 cubes is a windfall! Nazo and Amina don’t have much money. Zorash told me that Amina is so good and she stretches their food money as far as possible. She said that she will divide a bouillon cube so it will last for 2 meals. Hence the reason she was so happy with the full box. As we were walking away from her she kept talking to herself saying, “Woa, Woa.” I peeped at her through the window and she was wrapping the box up in her veil. I don’t know if it was for safe keeping or if she didn’t want anyone to try to force her to share.
Nazo did not come to work today; he had to go and help work on Ya-Na’s farm. Ya-Na is the king of this area; if he says jump you ask how far! If Nazo is lucky he will get part of the harvest.
Simon, Timothy Niligrini’s brother, came back to work again today. He is one of the hardest working people I have ever seen. He is just a tiny guy but he can work rings around the other guys. He should have finished the fire belts around the electric poles today.
Steve and I tried to tie up some of the loose ends but we did not make much headway. Divine came this afternoon to collect the money we owed him for the 2 loads of wood he hauled to Kulkpeni for the seminar. All the cooking will be done outside with firewood.
Enjoy your day!
