This morning was the day the workers in the Child Center came back from their holiday and Ramadan; so today the Child Center was back up and running. Since the holiday was now over this was the first day for us to actually help in the Child Center. Today lots of moms and dads came because it has been 3 weeks since their last visit. Dad and I had the job of tidying things up and dusting off the medicine containers.
After the Child Center closed, Goosie and I cooked up a dish of “bread pudding” because we had a 2 gallon Ziploc bag full of bread that we have been saving just for this very moment. It took 2 hours but it was worth it because it was delicious and it was my first time making it. I have always been more of a baker than a cooker even though I enjoy doing both. We let Amama and Zorash sample the bread pudding; they loved it.
After we had lunch we chilled until 3 o’clock when it was time to do Vacation Bible School. Dad got a little sick so he stayed back but I and Goosie and Gander with Timothy pressed onward.
During VBS we sang some songs and I read the people in the village a book about Jonah. When it came to the coloring it got hectic; the kids kept coming up to get more crayons and it was more of a “demand” than supply when it came to these kids. They would not sit down. There would be a swarm of 30 kids around me and Timothy that kept on asking for a certain crayon to finish their coloring sheet. Afterward we gave them a cool bracelet and the kids loved them a lot.
This was my last day in Yendi and we are traveling to Accra tomorrow, so I have to say I have enjoyed my time working with all the people in Yendi and I am ready to head to Accra.
Sincerely

I started off good but that did not last very long. I went down to the Child Center this morning to help out; everything was going along very well; I climbed from Marcus’ to Evan’s lap and thoroughly enjoyed the grooming they were giving me. Mom got up and picked some dried seed pods out of one of the trees for me. She dropped them on the floor for me and I was positively sure that I saw Marcus look at my seed pods; I just knew that he was going to pick one of them up so I jumped on him and bit his arm; he jumped up and moved out of my way before I could get him again! Mom pulled me away from him and started dragging me to the house! I was in serious trouble! She dragged me all the way from the Child Center to my jail cell fussing all the way! She did not even let me stop to rest or pick up a stone on the way! It was the quickest trip to my jail cell I have ever made! Mom put me in solitary confinement until after lunch! It was a sad, sad, morning for me! I wish I could take the bite back!
I only got to get out for a couple hours this afternoon because all my people went to the village for VBS. They did not get back until 6:30and then it was time for supper. After supper I got out to drink my last bottle of the day!
The highlight of my day was that while I was at the Child Center; I caught a nice fat spider! Yum! I ate his abdomen first; one of his legs fell off and was wiggling around on the ground. I saved the leg for last.
It’s a pretty sad day when you get excited about eating spider legs!
Love, Skeeter
