This is our last day in Yendi for a little while.  We have been rushing around all day.  We emptied the little fridge and cleaned the big fridge; if I pack carefully everything from the small fridge will go in the big fridge. There is no need to run both fridges when we are not here.  The only thing that we have left to do tonight is wash the supper dishes and clean and bleach the toilets.  Steve is washing the dishes while I type up the Notes.

Donkey had the corn he harvested this year drying in one of the storage rooms.  We asked Mr. Iddrisu to use the motor king to haul the corn to Donkey’s house.  Today was actually one of Mr. Iddrisu’s days off but he was more than happy to get the extra work.  We wanted to lock the storage room and pick up the key to the back part of the property.  We don’t like to have gate keys unaccounted for while we are gone.

Divine stopped by again this afternoon.  He said that he was in some of the neighboring villages campaigning.  He is running for the position of Assemblyman in his area.  There are 12 or so communities in the area where he is running.  We are not sure about his chances for winning because the areas are mostly Dagomba communities and Divine is a Konkomba.  Many of the Dagombas would not like to have a Konkomba man as their representative.  An Assemblyman is sort of like being on the council.  Divine brought a couple of his supporters with him today to introduce to us.  The platform that he is running on is helping the farmers by setting up a farmers association.  He feels that if the farmers had an association the government would take them more seriously.  The election is on the 19 of December.  He only declared his candidacy a couple weeks ago.  He said that only one other guy was running against him so that is helpful but that guy is the one that has been the Assemblyman for the past 8 years.

Zorash called this morning and then sent a message to let us know that several of her friends needed reading glasses.  We keep a supply of the cheap reading glasses from Dollar Tree on hand because reading glasses are not available in Yendi.

Thank you for all you do for us and for the work.  Please keep us in your prayers as we travel home.

In HIS Service,

Steve and Kandie
