We started the day running. Kandie was up early doing laundry and I was getting the van checked out for our trip to Tamale tomorrow. Timothy Niligrini called around 7am to tell me a church member’s mother had died; we talked as to how to help the family. We decided to send them money towards the burial.
Kandie had breakfast for us around 8am. She fixed eggs and hash browns. After eating I took off for town to purchase sprayer parts, electricity units, Lactogen and to send the money for the burial. At 9am we all jumped in the pickup and went to Kpamang to distribute book bags to the children at Brother divine’s school. Taylor and Kandie rode in the back of the pickup. The children really loved getting the bags. We took photos of the children wearing their book bags. Twenty minutes later we were back on the road again to the compound. The rest of the time before lunch was spent working on the books and getting luggage packed.
Mr. Iddrisu threw a wrench in the works this morning because he had to help with the burial of the family of one of his friends. He did not get to work until we had finished lunch. He was not able to make the bank deposit because of his late arrival; he will have to go tomorrow.
Kandie saw Warihana’s father this morning while I was out. This is the adolescent girl that has a severe case of Osteomyelitis. Her father had taken Warihana for an x-ray and a blood test. They go back to the surgeon who operated on her leg on Friday. We helped them with the costs of the x-ray and transportation.
I had to make 2 trips to town to get the items marked off the “To do” list. Around 4pm two brothers from the Namumba District came with Timothy Niligrini to discuss a mini seminar they are planning later this month. They were hoping to have us come and speak but we will be in the states when it takes place. We discussed the cost of holding a seminar. They had no idea what it would cost to put on a two day seminar. Kandie made them a copy of the account of the last seminar that we had. The men’s eye’s popped wide open when they saw the total amount that is laid out for the annual 3 day seminar our supporters help us sponsor. We helped them with some money for food. Our aim was not to discourage them but to make them aware of the cost so they could plan better. They were pleased with the support. We thank our supporters that help us help the churches.
At Kulkpeni tonight Marcus taught the class; his topic was Christian ethics. There was a lot of discussion generated by the questions that were asked. He did a great job!
Kandie and I will have a late night tonight so I will close for now. Please keep us in your prayers as we drive to Tamale and then fly to Accra. Have a good day!
In His service,
Stephen, Kandie, Marcus, and Taylor
