We have worked on the books off and on today but we have not made much headway.  There have just been too many distractions!

The elderly man whose daughter was in a motorcycle accident a couple months ago came back to the mission house this morning.  He has been raising the huge amount of money that the doctor will need to do the surgery on her back.   His daughter is 21 years old.  According to the man her back has been broken in a couple places.  A large amount of hardware will be needed to repair the damage.  It is still up in the air as to whether or not she will be able to walk after the surgery but the doctor is hopeful.  Anyway the family found a donor that will help with the surgery so the portion we promised will go to help pay for medicine, the hospital, therapy and other things that she will need.  It sounds like she is in for quite a battle.

Abduli-Ganu, the teenage boy that we sent to Nsawam a couple months ago to get an artificial leg, is back in Yendi.  He came to visit us today and showed us how well he could walk.  He said that the process of learning to walk with the artificial leg was very hard and at times he wanted to stop but he is now very happy with his prosthesis.  He was all smiles when we took his video.  He said that now he can not only ride a bicycle but he can also ride a motorcycle.  He said that he stayed in Nsawam longer than necessary because Nsawam also trains people to make and fit prosthetics.  They asked him to stay until the class graduated because they needed him as their project.

The work on the building is still going on; it is nearing the stage where they will start putting on the roof.

It is time for Bible Study so I will close for now.  Have a great day!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
