Mr. Oldman, our neighbor, stopped by a few minutes ago to greet us.  He was a bit put out because Steve had not alerted him as to the date we would be returning to Yendi.  He loves to be in the “know”.  Mr. Oldman sits on the roadside with a group of his male friends when he has nothing better to do and he likes to watch the people as they go by.  He said that he was surprised when he saw us pass as we were going to the market.  Steve apologized for forgetting to let him know we were back in Ghana.

Around noon we went to the market because I had nothing to cook for supper and I doubted that Steve was going to enjoy eating another batch of tuna salad and crackers.  Ha!  It was cooler today because it rained off and on all night.  The temperatures were in the 80’s so we were not miserable when we went to the market.  We got everything on our list except the eggs; the egg vendor was not open.  We will check tomorrow on our way back from church to see if he is around.  Other people are selling eggs but the eggs have no refrigeration and there is no way of telling how old the eggs are and how long they have been sitting in the sun.  We are rather particular about who we buy eggs from.

Timothy came by this afternoon to talk to Steve about the upcoming seminar that is being held in the southern part of Ghana.  Thanks to your generous gifts for evangelism, Steve is going to be able to pay for the men to attend the seminar.  Timothy and Francis will be attending from the Yendi area.  Getting the bus tickets is rather difficult because there are no buses running straight from Yendi or Tamale to Takoradi.  Steve tried to call the number that he picked up yesterday but the number never would go through.  We have to go back to Tamale on Monday to do some business; we will take Timothy with us and hopefully get the tickets.

We got 4 of the 11 suitcases unpacked and the stuff put away today.  It is almost as difficult unpacking, sorting and storing the stuff as it is gathering and packing it.  I guess there is no great rush on getting it put away other than the aggravation of walking around the suitcases that are piled in the front room.

Have a great day!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie

P.S.  Mrs. Lorraine Stovall passed away from our home congregation at Bethel.  Please keep Wayne, Sharon and Dwayne in your prayers as they grieve the loss of their wife / mother.  We know the Stovall family is devastated.  Lorraine will be sorely missed!  This family has been our good friends and long time supporters of the work in Ghana for many years.
