Shamuna, the young boy that we helped get a new prosthesis for his leg came to the Child Center this morning to show off his new leg.  He is as proud of the new leg as our children are when they get a new bike!

Steve decided that we need to take a photograph of each of the children / people that are helped through the donations from our faithful supporters.  We have a file on most of those that are helped but we thought it would be nice to have a photo of them to add to their file.  This should help jog our memories!  Shamuna was the first one photographed for the new filing system.

Steve spent a good portion of the day working on the material he will present at this month’s evangelists’ / church leaders’ class later this week.

Kojo, the church leader from Sobobito stopped by this morning to pick up baptismal certificates and the new used bicycle that we promised him yesterday.  He was very happy to get the bicycle.  He did not get one last year when we were doing the mass distribution because he was sick.

Red’s men came today and finished taking down the razor wire and removing the “T” post that hang the wire.  Mr. Iddrisu got the motor king started and drove around the property and picked up the rolls of razor wire.  He put the razor wire in one of the rooms in the new building that we built last year and took the “T” post to Red’s house.  Red has a welding machine at his house so he will be re-working the “T” post at his house in the evenings when he is not hauling sand.  While Mr. Iddrisu was using the motor king when he ran out of gas and Steve had to go to the filling station and get some for him.

The electricity was off all night last night.  First thing this morning we went to VRA to see if they could fix the problem.  They said that they had already sent a crew out to work on the lines.  An hour or so later it came back on.  Fortunately we have a generator!

Amama taught me how to make Ayoyo, one of the most popular stews in this area.  It is made with tiny leaves that are very slippery like boiled okra, tomato paste, hot pepper and Dawadawa powder (fermented seeds from the Dawadawa tree).  The ones we had were not as slippery as she wanted so she added baking soda to improve the slippery quality.  It is delicious; we are having it tonight with boiled yams, YUM!

Thank you for the love, prayers and support!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
