The chicken pot pie is in the oven; Steve made the pie crust so we are expecting great “eats” for supper tonight.  I just have enough time to write the notes before the pie is done!  Life is good!

It rained a little while this morning and then sprinkled off and on the rest of the morning and into the afternoon so we were stuck in the house.  In fact we had to cut our morning walk short because it started to rain on us and Steve hates to get wet.  We dashed back to the mission house and Steve finished his walk with an umbrella.  I finished my exercise by wet mopping the floors.  The wind blew all night which blew dust into the house.  The windows have louvers like camping trailers have and the dust blows right through them.  Some day we may splurge and get real windows!  If I got real windows what would I have to complain about?

I used the rainy time to work on quilt blocks; Steve ironed the blocks after they were stitched together.   My kids tease me by saying “If Mom is working everybody had better be working!”  Behind every bit of teasing is a bit of truth!  Steve also fixed my sewing table.  The table is unstable and the machine vibrates when I sew at top speed which is most of the time.  The machine will walk right off the table.  He cut some thin slats and made a trough for the machine to set in.   I love it!

After the rain stopped Steve went out and trimmed the fire blight out of the mango trees.  He threw part of the leaves over the wall; the neighborhood sheep and goats were enjoying a feast!  Steve used the blower and cleaned the leaves off the veranda.

We went to town and bought electrical units for the mission house for the pre-paid meter and we also stopped and bought communion juice.  Next week is the monthly class and the men will want to buy it when they come.  Steve subsidizes the cost of most of the things he sells to the churches.  He does not like to give the stuff freely because that is not good for the churches.

Please continue to pray for us and for the work in Ghana.  We appreciate all you do for us and for the churches.

In His service,

Steve and Kandie
