We decided to walk around the mission property for our morning walk today.  We walked to the back end of the property and around the buildings.  Skeeter was outside playing and we thought that he might like to walk with us instead of being put back in his cage.

There is no way to drive a vehicle from the front yard to the back yard because the clothes line is in the way.  It is so annoying to have to open the front gate, drive down the lane a little piece and open the middle gate in order to go to the Child Center and the back side of the property.  This morning we dug up one of the clothes line posts and moved it over.  It will be so nice when we have to load and off load stuff and check on the masons and carpenters.  It is usually me who has to get out of the vehicle and open the gates!  Steve and Donkey did most of the work but I will get most of the benefits!  I love it when a plan comes together.

Just before lunch we went to town to buy electrical units for the main house and for the Child Center.  While we were out we bought a new TV, the one in our room met with an accident!  We decided that we wanted to mount it on the wall to protect it in the future.  It was quite a chore for Steve to drill and install the cement anchors that were needed to attach the mounting bracket.  The mounting bracket was so flimsy that Steve was afraid to leave the TV hanging from it so he took it down.  We will look for a stronger one when we go to Tamale next week.

Donkey said that his daughter saw one of the big hawks that live in the back field fly into the power lines.  He said that the wires sparking caused the dry grass to catch on fire.  Donkey said that he hollered for his family and they were able to put the grass fire out before it got out of control.   Donkey said that the hawk (Donkey calls them eagles) was chasing a small bird when he hit the power lines.  Donkey said that if his daughter had not seen what happened the whole field would have burned.

Take care and have a good week-end!

In HIS Service,

Steve, Kandie and Skeeter

P.S.  We are sad to report that Larry Underwood’s brother Mike passed away.  Our son Aaron and family are headed to Florida.  Please pray for the family and that all those who are traveling will have a safe trip.

The Monkeyshines

I am in so much trouble!  I am always getting in trouble but this time I am in serious trouble!  I was jumping around and I jumped up on the TV and it fell off the table.  Now I am in the “Dog House” or should I say “Monkey House”!  When they first turned it back on the picture looked good but then Mom noticed a dark spot in the top corner.  The next day there was a light pink line in the middle of the screen, then a light blue line appeared at the top of the screen, then the bottom turned dark.  I thought that the colors were pretty nice, the sky was blue, the people’s faces were pink and the ground was dark.  The dark green squiggle lines started appearing and Dad said that the TV had to be replaced.  Mom said she could live with the strange colors but Dad said it was hurting his eyes trying to watch TV with the green squiggle lines.  They bought a new TV today and they made me stay outside and play with Mr. Iddrisu and Donkey while they set it up.  Now I wonder why they did not want my help!

I did not enjoy our morning walk because those 2 big hawks sat on the electric poles and watched our every move!  I was just sure that one was going to swoop down and snatch me up!  I decided that it was safer to ride on Dad’s shoulder; besides he was carrying an umbrella to keep the sun off his head and it was cooler under the umbrella.

I am going to try to stay out of trouble!

Love, Skeeter
