Before leaving Yendi this morning we stopped along the road to allow Timothy Niligrini to get some breakfast. He chose to buy some Koshie . This is the bean fritters the women whip up and deep fry. The fritters are really good and have lots of plant protein which is excellent for children as well as adults.

We traveled south of Yendi to the village of Jakpumba. Now that we have a good road to travel, the trip is reduced from 90 minutes to 60. There was more than enough time to visit the chief upon our arrival. The chief told us that the area had received a lot of rain this year compared to last which will allow for the early harvest of several of their crops. Last year the same area suffered from drought.

After we finished with the chief we inspected the church building. One of the church leaders explained to us the termites had been working under the rear of the building causing it to crack the corner of the building. Inside you could see about a 2 foot fairly straight crack in the floor that was drooping down. This is a mud ball structure so the footer and the floor are gravel and not cement. It gives ants and termites the ability to “work” under the very thin layer of cement that is covering the floor. The members said they would like to build another building next dry season so we will help them in their endeavor with matching funds.

I chose to teach a lesson entitled “God says what he means and means what He says”. I used examples of Nadab and Abihu from Leviticus 10 and Uzzah from 2 Samuel chapter 6 to prove that when God gives instructions He means it or pay the consequences; In their cases, with their lives.

The congregation was happy with the gifts that we brought to them.  After services and the questions and answer time we also discussed family planning. There are many more women than men in this congregation so the discussion was well received.

After services tonight at Kulkpeni we were asked if we would still help re[place the floor in the round pavilion room . The church will remove the old floor and we will help cast a floor when we return later this summer.  The church grounds are very bushy so we will provide the herbicide if they will do the spraying.

Hope you had a good Lord’s Day. May God bless.

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
