Today is our oldest son Aaron’s birthday. Missing these special days is one of the hard parts of sitting in the middle of West Africa. We will have a party when we get back home.
This evening after Steve finished the last lesson and question period of the day 18 young people wanted to be baptized. They were from several different congregations. One of them was Abigail, Timothy Niligrini’s oldest daughter. It was a very proud day for him and Sister Rita! Matthew, one of the church leaders from Kulkpeni and Francis one of the church leaders from Duni; they were carrying out the baptisms simultaneously. It was a glorious sight! After the baptism the people broke out in song! We only had to drive about ½ a mile down to the river. We took the young ladies in the van and Divine carried the men in his motor king.
This afternoon Tichak called to tell us that they were going to need more rice for the evening meal. On our way back to Yendi we stopped and bought another 50 pounds of rice that means that they cooked 1,050 pounds of rice this year at the seminar. We asked if there was anything else that they needed; we were assured that they had enough of everything else. After the baptisms Tichak came up to us and said that they needed more sugar to make the hot chocolate for breakfast tomorrow morning; he said that they needed 35 additional pounds of sugar. We are not sure how they could use 135 pounds of sugar but that is what they will use. At the last count the men had registered 555 people. There is a discrepancy in the number of people that were registered and the number of meals the kitchen is serving. We talked about it and the only thing we can figure is that the small children were not registered and they might have missed some of the children from Kulkpeni. The kitchen served 679 meals each time they cooked; that is a whole bunch of food!
We did not get back to the mission house until 7:00 ;we had a very late supper! This seminar thing is the new diet plan! Ha! At least we did get a break after lunch today. I tried to take a nap but Skeeter was having none of that!
Have a great day! Keep praying for us!

First thing this morning Mom set me free and I helped Donkey rake the yard! I had so much fun, that is until Mom and Dad decided that it was time for them to go to the seminar. I ran from them but they tricked me; they enticed me to come sit beside them with a piece of bubble gum! Bubble gum is my one weakness!
I heard Mom complain that I kept her from taking a nap this afternoon but you have to hear my side of the story! I was lonely! I had been left alone from 8:30 this morning until 1:30 this afternoon and I was ready to play and be entertained! Mom was no fun. All she wanted to do was snuggle up under the covers and try to take a nap. I was under the covers part of the time with her but I was not interested in sleeping! I tried to groom her by prying her eyes open and pulling her hair through my teeth! Finally she gave me to Dad and told him to play with me! That was short lived because the phone rang and the parents had to go to the market to buy rice so I was sent back to prison!
They did not come back until late tonight! I thought that I was going to starve; I really enjoyed my bottle tonight! My tummy is so full! I will sleep good tonight!
Looking forward to the seminar being over!
Love, Skeeter
