Sayibu, the electrician, showed up bright and early this morning. He came as we were finishing our walk. Steve gathered the supplies, tools and ladder from the mission house and loaded them up in the truck. Sayibu brought a helper with him so Steve did not have to spend all morning at Kulkpeni helping him.
Today was the day Zorash was supposed to go to the hospital and have the dressing on her foot replaced and have the wound cleaned. She thought that since the clinic near the mission house is a sister to the main hospital she could have her foot cleaned and dressed at the clinic. They told her that she would have to go back to the main hospital to have it dressed. When she got to the hospital she said that the staff laughed at her because she did not bring her own gauze, dressings and tape with her. She had to go out into the town and buy the materials before they would clean and dress it for her. Imagine a hospital that does not have gauze or tape!
I had just finished cooking lunch when Sayibu called and told Steve they had finished wiring the building and that they were ready for him to come get them and take them back to Yendi. We are happy to have that job behind us.
While Steve worked at the Child Center this morning I fought with the copier. Steve has spent all afternoon making copies and clearing jams! Fun stuff! He is just finishing up Lesson 6 and there are 12 lessons in the booklet. Yea! We are almost half way finished! That is, we are almost half way finished making copies. We still have to collate them, punch holes and get them in the folders. We will have to cut the paper down because European paper is a different size than American paper and we brought the plastic folders from the states.
While Steve made copies I did the payroll for the workers and evangelists. The evangelists will come in for class on Friday but the workers don’t get paid until the last day of the month.
Red brought Kulkpeni’s sign board back to the mission house this afternoon. He welded new legs on it; it looks like it is good and strong now. We heard that our sign board painter was running for some government office so he is not in Yendi right now. They said that his apprentices are still there working. Hopefully they will do a good job.
Thank you for the love, prayers and support!

Zorash wore the prettiest dress to the Center this morning. It had tiny shiny things glued all over it. I pretended that I wanted to visit with Zorash so I climbed up on the back of her chair so I could bite the little things off. It took her a few minutes to figure out what I was doing.
Meri wears a veil every day but she takes it off when she is working at the Center. I was on my leash but she put the veil in a chair that I could reach if I stretched really hard! I had the best time playing with her veil! It is a big one that is made of stretch fabric; it is perfect for hiding under and wallowing around in. Of course Mom has to be a spoilt sport! As soon as she saw me with the veil I got in trouble and she took it away from me and pushed the chair to the other side of the room!
Mom tried to feed me cooked carrots! I love raw carrots but what was I supposed to do with the mushy carrots? I am a monkey; in the wild I never get cooked food so why try to feed it to me now? Needless to say I did not eat them so hopefully they won’t be put on my plate again!
NO MORE CARROTS!
Love, Skeeter
