As soon as we got up this morning we started washing clothes.  We picked the wrong day to wash because by the time the second load was done the sky was black; it rained heavily all morning.  We hung the clothes all over the house.  Steve added a new clothes line in the tool room which was a big help.  We turned on the ceiling fans and then the electricity went off.  We are proud to have a generator!  We have been flipping clothes over all day.  Most of them are still not dry because of the amount of moisture in the house.  We were able to get our walk in before it started raining.

Donkey could not rake leaves or clean the yard today so I set the ironing board and iron up on the veranda and he spent the day ironing fabric scraps.  Mr. Iddrisu got stuck at the back of the property today.  He was in the back cutting down the tall grass around the building site when the rain hit.

It was still raining when it was lunchtime so I made an extra large batch of Jollof rice and shared it with Donkey and Mr. Iddrisu.  Jollof rice is rice that is cooked with canned tomatoes, onions, garlic, oil, and canned mackerel.  We knew that since it was raining the women would not be cooking so even if they wanted to buy fast food they would not have found any.

After the rain stopped this afternoon Timothy Niligrini came to the mission house.  We thought that he was here to pick up the food money for the monthly class but he had another problem.  We have hired him to translate the lessons Steve has been writing on the home, marriage and the male/female responsibility in the home into the Konkomba language.  He had the first lesson translated onto paper and was ready to type it into a word document on his laptop when he realized that there was a problem with his computer.  His nephew had borrowed his laptop to do some lessons for the nursing program he is working on.  The guy does not know anything about computers so he let one of his instructors work on Timothy’s computer.  The instructor said that the computer was old and it was slow so he was going to do whatever to speed it up.  Evidently he re-formatted the computer; not only did he dump all of Timothy’s files, Bible programs and photos he also got rid of Microsoft office; without even asking Timothy.  There was nothing left on the computer except the windows program.  We did not think we were going to be able to help Timothy but we found an old copy of Microsoft office and were at least able to load it on the computer so that he can continue with the translating.  Timothy was sick and we were sick for Timothy!  Steve told him that computers were like wives; you should never let anyone borrow yours!

It is almost time for evening Bible study so I will close for now.  Take care!

In HIS Service,

Steve and Kandie
