First thing this morning Steve went to the GRA (Ghana Revenue Authority) office to try to get a new Tax Clearance Certificate.  The one we got last year has expired and we know that we will need it for the Land Commission.  They said that they could not give him one unless we got the documents from the Registrar General’s office.  Once again; “Go and Come!”

Later this afternoon he was able to get copies made of the TIN numbers (Tax ID Numbers) that we need for the Registrar General’s office so we will have to be content with the “small things”.

While we were out for our walk this morning Steve saw several big black vehicles with dark glass driving down the road we were walking on.  This usually means someone important or a dignitary is riding in the vehicles.  The vehicles stopped by us and we were so surprised and excited to see the Regent.  He used to be the Regent of Dagbon.  When the new chief was enskinned (he sits on animal skins instead of a throne so they call it “enskinment”) he was given the chieftaincy in a village on the outskirts of Tamale.  He is such a nice guy and we could not help but be honored that he stopped to talk to us.  He was headed to the palace to greet the chief.

Meri did not come to work today.  Her little girl Mofeda was sick yesterday and she went home early.  She was having a hard time breathing.  Sometimes when they can’t breathe it is a sign of Malaria but of course with Covid everywhere it could be that too.  We advised her to take her to the doctor but she said that she would wait to see if she got better before she went.  Zorash tried to call her several times today but did not get an answer. Maybe she was at the doctors.

Gomda the mechanic finished working on the green truck and brought it to the mission house.  He had taken it to the washing bay and given it a bath.  We do not wash the vehicles when there is a water shortage but Gomda wanted it to look nice for us; very sweet but unnecessary.  We sent the old van with him.  The power steering belt broke and it hesitates when driving in 1st and 2nd gear.

Please keep the evangelists and Church leaders in your prayers as they travel to and from class on Friday.

In His Service,
