A new albino baby came to see us. This was the first time for us to see the baby but we have been providing sunscreen for his albino brother for several years. The older child is about 4 or 5 years and the baby is about 6 months. This is the second family that has albino siblings; the other family has 3 albino children. Some years ago I checked the “World Records” and at that time the family that held the record had 4 albino children. Isn’t God amazing? Most of the people in our area think albino children are grand!

The hydrocephalic baby is not doing well. He is sick and throwing up. The doctors decided to send him home.  They told the family to go ahead and pay in advance for the surgery which we think is a very bad idea especially if the baby does not get strong enough to have surgery. The mother said that there was not even enough money left to pay for the surgery because the lab test, ex-ray, food and medical expenses have used up part of the money.  We told them to bring the money back to us to keep until they go back so we can keep it safe and top it up to the full amount when they are ready to go back for the surgery. The mother said that she had already given it to an old man in Tamale to keep for them.  We are sick about that!  We are concerned that there might not be any money left when it is time for the surgery.

Mr. Iddrisu put the second coat of paint on the locked cabinet and painted a couple of hand washing stands. We will use one of them when we open the Child Center and the other one will be given to one of the churches.

It was hot again today; high of 104 and heat index of 112.  We almost got rain last night.  It sprinkled for a few minutes but just could not bring itself to rain. We got lots of wind and dust. Amama had lots to clean this morning.

We got more chlorine to put in the rain water that we catch in the cistern. In the past we have gotten the chlorine in Accra but since we have been flying from Accra to Tamale we cannot bring it up. Chemicals are not allowed on the plane.  Zorash was able to find someone in Tamale that was selling it to make bleach. We got a huge container that will last for several years.

Thank you for all you do for us and for the work.  We really appreciate your help.

In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
