Zorash came to work this morning and she helped us touch up the paint on the bicycles.  We got all the bikes painted that we had in the compound before her day’s work was finished.  We needed to hire a bicycle man to change out the tires and tubes on the bikes that were leaking.  Zorash suggested that we wire the man that does bike repairs who lives in her neighborhood.  She called him and he was so happy to have the work.  He came to the mission house with his assistant and they changed out all the tubes that were leaking and he changed 2 tires.  He also changed out a generator for one of the lights, put in a new spoke and changed a fender.  He was quick and his price was right.  We will have to have him come back when we get the rest of the bikes.  At 1:30we went back to the shop and picked up 5 more bicycles.  We got them touched up later in the afternoon.  We thought that we were going to be able to pick up 5 more bikes this evening but by the time we got to the shop he had closed for the day.

Later this afternoon Zorash called and said that she had been contacted by the lady that sells fabric in the market and that she had a lead on the lime green fabric I had been looking for a couple weeks ago.  I no longer need the fabric but I was afraid not to take the chance of going to the lady’s house to see exactly what type of fabric she had because one day I might need something else from the lady and I didn’t want to burn that bridge.

We picked Zorash up and went to the lady’s house.  The fabric she had was green but not lime green but the other fabric she had was nice and I bought a teal colored piece.  When we left her house Zorash said that she had gotten a call from one of the ladies we buy scraps from and she had a bag of scraps she wanted to sell.  We passed by her shop and bought the scraps.

The mother of the child that has no use of his arms (he appears to have been born without all of the bones in his arms) came back from Tamale and she came to the mission house to tell us how things went when she was at the hospital.  She said they took x-rays of the baby’s arms and they put them in the computer.  She said that she is supposed to go back on Monday so she can see the doctor on Tuesday.  Tuesday is the only day the specialist comes to Tamale hospital.  She said that the nurses could not tell her anything.  We gave her the money for the trip back to Tamale on Monday.

The mother of the little girl with the hair lip is back in Yendi too.  She said that they did not do the surgery because they needed to do more blood work.  We figure the child’s blood counts are not where they want them to be to do surgery.  She is to go back in a week or so to have more blood work.  We were disappointed that they were not able to do the surgery quickly but not as disappointed as the family was!

Have a great day!

In His Service,
