Hi folks! Timothy didn’t have to come into town this morning because we visited the Church at Nalongni located southwest of Kulkpeni.  This congregation has approximately 25 adult members so it’s not as big as the other congregations we have visited this month.

The men decided that the class and preaching time should be put together and I could preach on any subject.  My lesson was about God having a plan for His church and well as for the man and woman.   There weren’t many questions asked after services so Kandie stayed with the women and passed out some items and I was outside helping to distribute the crocheted hats to the younger children.  The kids loved the hats. The mothers that had babies in arms were tickled to get a smaller hat for their children also.  After the hats were passed out Kandie took a couple of photos of the children with their hats on.

As we were preparing to leave we learned there were some men coming from Nandundo, a nearby village, to talk with us. While we waited for their arrival we walked to Bro. Joseph Kumasi’s house to say hello.  Joseph had a stroke several years ago and he lost the use of his right hand. He has gained some of his speech back but he still has a high pitched voice.

Back at the church building we met three men from Nandundo. They informed us they had revived the Church in the village. Years ago the evangelist that used to work with us had given the church’s property to a nephew which led the congregation to collapse and the dismissal of the evangelist.  After much palavering with the men we decided to help them financially to purchase more cement to make the blocks needed for the building.  They told us they had already made 500 blocks. We were happy when they told us they had been meeting for the past 5 months so we will visit them as the months go by. Our schedule is open for this next Sunday so we made plans to worship with them then and we will learn more about the congregation.

On our way back to Kulkpeni we stopped to take some photos of two boys walking down the road; one boy with a stringer of fingering fish and the other boy had three young birds that looked like some type of heron. I had mixed feelings about the birds that were almost ready to fly the coop but then I have never been hungry either.  Meat is very costly! Both boys were very proud of their catch. We gave both of them a Cedi for allowing us to take their video; a serendipity event for the boys!

Not far down the road we came upon a snake that had been killed this morning. Timothy said

“Oh, that’s the red one! This snake isn’t quite as poisonous as some.”  All I could think about was that poison is poison and I don’t want any poison in me. I was very cautious as I took some photos of it to send back home.

When we went to Kulkpeni tonight we took the paint and brushes so the church members could start painting in preparation for the seminar at the end of next month.

That’s it for today. May God bless!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
