We went to Tamale again today.  The main reason that we went was to go to the Registrar General’s office and start the paperwork that we need from them to get the lease on the land.  Does this sound like the second verse of the song we were singing last year?  We went to the office 3 times today but the man we needed to see was never there.  The men that work in the office with him felt certain that he would be in at some point today; well he did not come in today.

Last night Steve was trying to make copies on the copy machine but was having a hard time because there was a tiny hole in the drum.  He tried to patch it but it made things worse.  We decided to take the drum with us to Tamale in the hopes that we could get a new one or at the very least a used one.  It took 3 tries and lots of walking and asking but we finally found a Copy Doctor.  He seemed to know what he was doing and had a new one bought and installed in under an hour.  How is that for service?  We were impressed to say the least!  We have not tried it but hopefully it will work well.

We planned to buy Konkomba Bibles today but there were none to be had.  The people at the Bible publishing house said they had been out for several months and were not sure when a new batch would be printed.

When we picked up the van that was having the air conditioning repaired we noticed that it was barely cooling.  The owner of the shop was not around; he had something wrong with his eyes but the men that worked on the van assured us that it was cooling.  We took it out for a long test drive and there was definitely something wrong with it.  We took it back to the shop and the mechanic confessed that after they put in the new compressor and condenser they could not really test it because that was the owner’s job.  They put more Freon in it and we brought it back to Yendi.  Next time we go to Tamale we will take it back.

We dropped off the letter at the phone office and we picked up a letter from the auditor.  We also paid for 10 cases of formula.  The formula should be delivered to Yendi on Saturday.  We bought 2 tires for the van and had them put on, balanced and rotated.  So all in all we got quite a few things marked off our list.

We did not get back to Yendi until 7:15 which meant that we had to drive for about 45 minutes in the dark!  We hate driving after dark; it is just too dangerous.  Many of the vehicles do not have lights and people will sit down on the side of the road to rest; not to mention the goats and sheep that have to be dodged.

We are pooped!  Take care and have a good day.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
