We are in Accra.  We flew in this afternoon.  We decided to fly down today because we did not want to risk the plane  being late tomorrow and not being at the airport when Marcus and Taylor arrive.  We had an uneventful flight.

We talked to Charity, Marcus’ wife a little while ago and she said that the guys had a glitch when they went to check in.  They had proof of negative Covid tests but the Ghana government is now requiring that the test be certified and have a QR code attached to the report.  Who ever heard of such a thing?  This is a new regulation since we flew into Ghana in February.   Marcus and Charity were able to get online on Marcus’ computer and sign into the website that does the certification, fill out the form and get the tests certified and the QR code.  They were not able to print the code so they took photos of it with their phone; they were able to proceed through the check in process and last time we talked to them they had gone through security and were waiting to get on their plane to Atlanta.  Please, Please pray that they have a safe flight and do not have any more hiccups!  I am a nervous wreck and I am not even flying.  According to what Marcus and Charity found out we will have to have the same certification when we leave Ghana.  We will go to the testing facility here in Accra tomorrow morning and make sure that they have the ability of certifying their Covid tests.

This afternoon we went to the Forex (foreign exchange bureau) and changed dollars into Cedis.  In the building that houses the For-ex Bureau there is a small restaurant that specializes in Lebanese food.  We had a wonderful lunch and ate far too much!  Then we checked into the hotel and went “shopping”!  We only bought a few things because we will be back in a couple weeks.  We were really checking out the carver’s village because last time we were here we saw that they had torn down part of the building and we heard that many of the vendors had to move.  We were pleased that many of the vendors had rebuilt and remodeled their shops.  The place is not as large as it used to be but there was still plenty of shopping to be done.

Please keep Marcus and Taylor in your prayers as they travel.  Did I mention that Taylor is our grandson and Marcus is our son-in-law?  Ha!

Thank you for all you do for us and for the work.

In His service,

Steve and Kandie
