It was 9:20 this morning when Timothy rolled in on his motorcycle. I was beginning to think he had trouble with his vehicle. We were scheduled to visit the village of Kpamang where Brother Divine lives.  I think Timothy was tired like we were from dealing with the seminar yesterday and he was just slow moving today. We were not sure what time the Church starts their services but when we arrived the people had not assembled.  The sun was brutal today because the Harmattan was not in the air.  As we walked over to the chief’s house the sunlight felt like it was stinging my arms.

Brother Divine requested that I speak about the responsibilities of the men, women, and children in the church as well as in the community. After services we were told there were two babies that needed to be named.  These two boys had the same grandmother so I decided to name one boy Timothy and the other Titus.  Then I was told there was another child, a boy that also needed to be named so we chose the name of Thomas.  Kandie and I gave each mother 20 GH Cedis as a “shower” gift.   To our surprise we found out there were several people requesting baptism.  There were 5 people who were baptized. Kpamang is lucky to have their own dam. We drove back about ¼ mile on a deeply rutted bush road to the water where Timothy baptized the people. It was a good day!

On our journey back to Yendi one of the young men who Timothy baptized requested a ride back to Yendi where he is a student.  It was sure nice to have a nice quiet afternoon after the past four days dealing with the seminar.

About the time we were to leave for bible study tonight Brother Divine showed up at the compound. He said that he had just received a phone call saying a relative in the village had passed out and he wanted me to go to the village to take him to the hospital. He had no other details of his condition so I took the old van just in case it had to be cleaned up. When we arrived I got bits and pieces of the man’s symptoms which sounded like he had a seizure. I expected the family to have the man all ready to go when we arrived but I should have known that wouldn’t happen. These folks have no sense of urgency so 15 minutes later we were on the dirt road back to Yendi.  It will be interesting to hear from Divine tomorrow what the doctor says about the condition.

That wraps up another day here in Yendi. Hope you had a good day. May God bless!

In his service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
