Today was the monthly class for the church leaders and evangelists.  While we were scurrying around trying to get everything ready to take to the class, Timothy called Steve to tell us that Rita told him that some of the bowls were broken and that we needed to buy new ones.  Rita is Timothy’s wife; she is the lady that cooks for the evangelists and church leaders; we try to keep her happy and supplied with whatever she needs to make her job easier.  But really, telling us 3 hours before you need something makes it difficult for us to help.  Steve had already left for class when Timothy called him.  I had no idea what the bowls looked like that needed to be replaced or how many she needed.  When Steve got to Kulkpeni he took a picture of the bowl and sent it to my phone.  My phone evidently is not set up to accept photos.  Steve told me just to buy whatever I wanted to buy.  I was going to the class this morning to help one of the evangelists fill out the forms for Social Security anyway so I headed to the market.  What a mess Yendi was in today; not only was it Yendi’s big market day but it was Friday (the Muslim high day for prayers so the streets were full of people going to the Mosques) and on top of all that the road crew who are putting a new road through the middle of Yendi had the entrance to the market blocked off.  I drove around and around trying to figure out how to get into the market.  I even went to the back side of the market but I could not get through because 3 big cargo trucks had the road blocked.  Finally I parked a short distance from the market and walked in.  I found some good looking bowls and bought 40; that should be enough bowls to last for a little while!

I was so happy that Daniel, the evangelist, brought all the documents that we needed to fill out his forms.  Daniel lives about 2 hours away from Yendi and running back home to get something he forgot is not an option!

Steve said the class went well today with lots of discussion.  Steve gave each of the men a T-shirt today; they are always happy to get anything.  The T-shirts he gave out today were some that have been given to us that were left over from various VBS’s in the states.  Today  33  men attended the class.

Mr. Iddrisu did not come to work today; he said that he had to go and visit Papa Zachariah, our old night watchman, that became a sub chief earlier in the year.  Today was really one of Mr. Iddrisu’s days off that he was going to use to pay back a day he owed us.  When he called he said he would make up the day next Friday.

Take care, have a great day!

In HIS Service,

Steve and Kandie
