Red just left.  We are trying to get everything organized so that Dawda the mason can start the wall on Monday.  Red has a friend that will sell us the cement for 1 cedi less than the other vendors.  I will gladly take a Cedi per bag!  Red has dumped 3 loads of sand and is planning on bringing another one on Monday.  He is also going to bring a load of gravel.  The gravel is not for this project but for the next building we will put up.  We decided to buy it early because the price of fuel keeps going up and that causes everything to go up.

Divine, the evangelist / farmer, was the teacher at the monthly class.  He is the guy that takes care of helping the Churches do their annual returns.  Their books are such a mess that he has to spend hours trying to decipher them.  We suggested that he come to the class and explain exactly how they should set up the accounting book so that it will make sense and be easy to calculate.  Divine made a sample of what the account book should look like and he gave a copy to each of the men.  Steve said that the class went very well and the men were enthusiastic about learning how to keep the books.  Steve gave the men calendars and handkerchiefs today.

One of the men bought a used motorcycle but has not yet paid the duty on it.  When he was passing through the barrier the police seized the motorcycle.  Oh!  How he cried!  Of course he wanted Steve to pay to get it out of hock but Steve was not falling into that trap!  That was the chance he took when he chose to drive it without the correct papers.

Dawda stopped by this morning to show us where he wanted the water containers placed.  The water hauler will come and fill them on Sunday afternoon.  Red has gotten about 1/3 of the “T” post finished.  His welder broke down and he had to have another one sent from Tamale.  It came this afternoon so he is back up and running.

While he was here we contracted with him to make the metal doors for the Church at Sobitido.  Sometimes he subcontracts out the doors to someone else.  We don’t care who makes them as long as they look good and hang straight.

Take care and have a great day!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
