We are spending the night in Tamale.  We were afraid that we would not be able to get everything that we needed to get done tomorrow.  Especially after we found out that we were going to have to hunt around for formula in Tamale.  As soon as the Child Center closed Zorash and I went to the market to talk to the lady who said she could order the formula for us.  We were disappointed that it did not come today.  She said that the warehouse that she ordered it from said that they only had 10 cases.  They were supposed to put it on today’s bus but the bus was too full to take it.  They said they would try again tomorrow.  We told Zorash that if it came she and Mr. Iddrisu would have to write and cash a check to pay for it.  We don’t want to miss the chance to get it if it comes.

We did not get away from the mission house as soon as we wanted to this afternoon so by the time we got to Tamale the bank and the Social Welfare office had already closed.  We got the new tires balanced and put on the van around 5:00 this afternoon.  Since there was nothing else that we could do we headed to the hotel.

The Indian couple who run the hotel were happy to see us.  This time we decided to change rooms.   They like for us to stay in the garden area because it is so beautiful and the rooms are big but the past few times we have stayed here the A/C units in the garden rooms are not cooling very well.  The units are really too small for the rooms and it takes them forever to cool down.  Last time the unit would not stay on and we ended up asking for a new room.  We hate to be a bother but it is difficult to sleep in this heat even with the fan on.  We are very well pleased with the room we have tonight!  The only drawback is that the rooms are all on the second floor.  There is always someone to help carry the luggage; climbing stairs is better than being hot!

Take care and please keep us in your prayers as we are traveling.

The Monkeyshines

Amama, the lady that helps Mom in the house, is a bit afraid of me!  She is not as afraid as Meri and her little boy Hakeem but she is still skittish around me!  As soon as Mom opened my jail cell I made a break for it and headed to the nearest tree.

When Mom washes clothes Amama usually hangs them out.  Mom washed today and if you remember I helped Dad hang the new clothesline yesterday.  As soon as I saw Amama with the basket of clothes I jumped out of the tree and onto the clothes line.  I was all over that clothes line while Amama was trying to hang the clothes.  It was the most fun ever!  I would get close to Amama and she would fuss at me.  I hung on with my dirty feet on some of the clothes so they have monkey footprints!  Amama got fed up and went into the house and reported my bad behavior to my parents.  Amama is a rat fink!  She got me in trouble!  Mom and Dad tried to catch me but I ran up to the top of the big mango tree and would not come down.  I knew that if they caught me I would be put in solitary confinement!  Mom told Dad not to worry about catching me because once Amama finished hanging the clothes I would no longer be interested in them.  Sure enough when Amama went in the house I found something else to occupy my time.

Hanging clothes is only fun if you have someone to hang them with!
