Marcus and Taylor arrived safely and on time this afternoon. It took them about an hour to get the Covid rapid test, collect their luggage and get through customs. They only made them open one of their tubs which is always a good thing!
Steve spied Taylor through the big plate glass windows so he knew that they were going through customs. As soon as they exited the terminal I shouted in my loudest voice, “TAYLOR; MARCUS!” Any of you that know me know that I have a big voice! One year at camp they did a skit about the “voice that could be heard around the world” of course I was the object of their teasing! Ha! Taylor is 16; when he hugged me he said, “Please don’t ever do that again!” I told him not to worry he would get a repeat performance this year at camp!
Marcus said they did not check that QR code; they did not check it when they left New York or when they entered Ghana; that was a bunch of stress for nothing!
We left the airport and came straight back to the apartment / hotel so the guys could get a shower and freshen up. Then we walked down to the little fast food restaurant and got chicken and pizza for an early supper. The guys have gone to bed; when you get off that long flight nothing feels better than lying down and stretching out. We are taking the earliest flight out in the morning. Steve has the alarm set for 5:00 in the morning tomorrow. We got all the stuff that we bought packed and the suitcases and tubs closed so it should not take us long to get out of here in the morning. Bismark is sending one of the drivers with a van to pick us up and take us to the airport.
This morning we went to a different carvers’ village and bought a few things. I had to be careful what I bought because everything we bought had to go in the suitcase and carry on that Marcus brought in with them because we only came with our backpacks. Shopping is my one weakness! Ha!
Take care and please continue to pray for us as we travel; add a prayer of thanks for the guys arriving safely!
In His service,
Steve and Kandie
