Well, Happy Thanksgiving to you!  What are you having for Thanksgiving dinner?  Thanksgiving is not even a thing over here.  Most don’t even know what we are talking about when we say this is one of our important family holidays.  We are celebrating all the same.  We are not having turkey but we are having guinea fowl.  We are not having sweet potatoes but we are having ripe candied plantain.  We are having the traditional green bean casserole but there is no mushroom soup to be had so I made my own with sliced canned mushrooms.  We are having dressing but no cranberry sauce.   I am not really sure that cranberry sauce is real food.  Steve likes it but I can do fine without it.  There is no pumpkin or pecan pie but then we need to lose a little weight.  Ha!  Hope you enjoy your time with family and friends.

We went back to Tamale today; the man at the Registrar General’s office disappointed us again.  This time he said that he could send the documents to us over the internet.  Now what in the world are we supposed to do with them when we are in the states?  We need them to turn into the “Land’s Commission” in Tamale.   This whole thing is turning into a joke!  Our trip to Tamale was not wasted.  We dropped the workers beneficiary paperwork off at the Social Security office; we dropped the receipts for the annual audit of returns off at the accountant; we went to the FOREX and changed dollars into Cedis so we could deposit them into the bank in Yendi and we went to the bank and got the statement for November for the auditor.  So all in all we got quite a few things done today and we were back in Yendi by noon.  That was one of our quickest trips to and from Tamale.

We spent the afternoon counting money and going over the paper work with Mr. Iddrisu.  It takes him forever to count money or do any sort of paper work.  He then went to the bank and made the deposit.  We had to leave money for some upcoming surgeries and church stuff.

Before Nazo left this afternoon he told us that we were out of brooms so we rushed to town and bought some.  We knew that if we put it off we would forget to buy them.

Thank you for all you do for us and for the work.  We have a special prayer request.  Please pray for the family of Marion Miller who lives in Ohio.  They have been long time supporters of the work in Ghana and long time family friends of Steve and his family.  Marion will be greatly missed.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
