The family of the little 2 ½ year old that had the hernia repair got the money that we sent.  Both the mother and the father called Zorash to tell her to tell us how grateful they were for the help!  We pass their thanks on to you.

This morning a mother with a set of twins came to the Child Center.  They are both girls about 4 months old.  One of the girls is fine but the other one has a malformed foot /ankle.  Steve called the orthopedic officer in Nsawam and asked if they had started seeing patients and doing surgeries with the present Covid situation.  He said that they were working again.  He asked Steve to take pictures of the little girl’s foot and sent them to him.  He said  there was no reason for them to come if her foot was beyond their ability to repair.  When he saw the pictures he said that he suspects that there is a bone missing from her leg that connects to her ankle / foot.  He asked Steve to have an x-ray taken of her foot and then to send it on to him.  He said that if a bone is missing they will need to remove the foot and fit her with an artificial foot.  He said that many times the family will refuse to have the foot removed.  He will know more when he sees the x-ray.  Steve did not want to add to the mother’s worry so he just said the specialist needed an x-ray.  The mother said that when the baby was born the doctors at Yendi hospital said they could fix the problem and they put the baby in a cast but as soon as the cast was removed the foot went back to its original position.  She said they never even took an x-ray of the foot.  Maybe we will know more in a few days.

It has been raining heavily this afternoon.  Nazo and Mr. Iddrisu got caught here because of the rain.  They have been sitting on the porch for a couple of hours waiting for the rain to die down.  Nazo rides a bicycle and Mr. Iddrisu rides a motorcycle.  Of course they think it is “Bitterly Cold”!  The temperature is a cool 73 degrees.

Steve printed and cut baptismal certificates this afternoon.  He prints them on card stock so those that have been baptized can have a record of when they were baptized.  The people here don’t have much of a concept of dates.  Many don’t even know when they were born, much less what day to celebrate a birthday on.

Please keep us and the work in your prayers.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
